DONALD JOHN MACPHAIL

Donald John Macphail

Funeral service for the late Donald John MacPhail, 70, Blues Mills, Inverness County, was held November 16 in River Denys Presbyterian Church with Reverend Brian MacLeod officiating. Burial was in Upper River Denys Cemetery.     

Mr. MacPhail died November 10, 2019, at home.     

Born in Inverness, he was a son of the late Allan and Ada MacPhail. He was member of River Denys Presbyterian Church. He was a member for many years of the Construction and General Workers Union, Local 92 and Labourer’s International Union, Local 1115, working in Eastern and Western Canada.     

He is survived by daughter, Ada (Shawn), Halifax; son, Aaron, Edmonton; former wife and friend, Margaret McCarthy; three grandchildren, Chelsea and Cole MacPhail-McGee, Leelee Boucher; two sisters, Alda (Lynn) Woods, Lower Sackville; Frances (Earle) MacPherson, Charlottetown; brother, Hugh (Natalie) MacPhail, Glenora; sister-in-law, Rena MacPhail, Upper River Denys; several nieces and nephews.     

He was predeceased by two brothers, Arnold and Gordon.      

Memorial donations may be made to Upper River Denys Cemetery Fund or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
