Funeral service for the late Earle Scott MacDonald, 83, Antigonish, was held June 6 in St. James United Church with Reverend Peter Smith officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Aspen. Mr. MacDonald died June 1, 2019, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Reader at the funeral service was Barb MacDonald. Remembrance was given by Betsy Bridle and Linda Hartery. Music was provided by Grant MacDonald, Connie Parker, Gerald Parker, Hee-Jung Choi and St. James Choir. Pallbearers were Chris MacDonald, Emily MacNeil, Anna MacNeil, Jeremy MacDonald, Cortney MacNeil and Sherri MacKenzie. Born in Goldenville, Guysborough County, he was a son of the late Wally and Alice (Mitchell) MacDonald. He was a well-known dentist in Antigonish for more than two decades. He enjoyed salmon fishing on St. Mary’s River, and he was also gifted with great musical talents. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sharron (Cruickshank); son, Daniel (Barb), Cole Harbour; three daughters, Linda Hartery, Edmonton/Antigonish; Lisa MacNeil (Kelvin Fraser), Antigonish; Betsy (Steve) Bridle, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren, Jeremy and Chris MacDonald; Riley, Max and Keigan Hartery; Emily (Derek), Courtney (Steve) and Anna (Mitch) MacNeil; Brittany, Tiffany and Shawn Bridle; great-granddaughter, Addison Bridle; two brothers, Grant, Enfield; Ralph, Antigonish; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter, Emily Sharron, in infancy; son, Tim; brother, Bill; three sisters, Helen, Betty, Joan.
