EDMUND ROY LANGILLE

Edmund Roy Langille

Burial of the late Edmund Roy Langille, 84, formerly of Eight Island Lake, Guysborough County, will be held at a later date.

Mr. Langille died January 4, 2020, in High-Crest Sherbrooke Home for Special Care.

Born in Isaac’s Harbour, he was a son of the late Almon and Edith (Cooke) Langille. He began his working days on the ‘lake boats’ on the Great Lakes in Ontario before taking a job at the Terrance Bay Pulp Mill. He then moved back to Nova Scotia to begin a career in the forestry industry. He worked with various logging companies before starting his own company, E&R Langille Contracting with his eldest son Ronald, of which he worked until he retired. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying many days and nights at his camp at Tom Mann Lake. Some of his favourite pastimes were scuba diving, trapping, hunting, snowmobiling, and fishing. He enjoyed his home on Eight Island Lake, sitting by the window watching the lake and the wildlife that surrounded it.

He is survived by his former wife, Patricia Fenton; three sons, Ronald (Laurie), New Glasgow; Darren (Jacquie), Thorburn; Craig (Cathy), Antigonish; daughter, Darlene (Michael), Trail, British Columbia; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Mariea (George) Stewart, Country Harbour; two brothers, Barry Stone, Dartmouth; Harvey (Karen) Stone, Yarmouth; several nieces, nephews and their families.

He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Lynne Alexander; daughter, Lisa; three sisters, Bernice Salsman, Annette Hayne, Ruby Pitts.
