EDWARD H. GREENCORN

Edward H. Greencorn

A graveside service for the late Edward ‘Eddy’ Howard Greencorn, 60, Port Hawkesbury, was held December 15 in St. Andrew’s Anglican Cemetery, Mulgrave, with Lay Minister Gail MacKay officiating.

Mr. Greencorn died December 9, 2019, at home.     

Born July 13, 1959, in Heatherton, Antigonish County, he was a son of the late Phillip Howard and Elizabeth ‘Marg’ Margaret (Brendel) Greencorn. He was employed with Martin Marietta Materials for the past 35 years as a heavy equipment operator/driller and blaster up until his illness.  Known as ‘Jughead’, he took great pride in his work. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fly fisherman and hunter, spending many hours tying flies or in the woods hunting with his nephew Brian.     

He is survived by his wife, Wanda MacLeod; two daughters, Shana (Curtis) Lamorie, Calgary; Daffney Greencorn (Evan Deveau), Cheticamp; step-daughter, Melanie MacLeod, Port Hastings; step-son, Jared MacLeod, at home; granddaughter, Kinsley Deveau; two sisters, Helga MacKinnon, Diane Greencorn (Archie Clyke), all of Mulgrave; two brothers, Alphonse (Jacqueline), Port Hawkesbury; Kenneth (Sandra), Lincolnville; special niece, Samatha (Alex) Jones and their children, Aubree and Olivia; several nieces and nephews.          

He was predeceased by three brothers, Kristean Phillip, in infancy; Hans Jurgen, Phillip ‘Paul’; brother-in-law, John B. MacKinnon.     

Memorial donations may be made to St Martha’s Palliative Care Unit or a charity of choice.
