EILEEN MARIE POWER

Funeral service for the late Eileen Marie Power, 79, Larry’s River, was held June 24 in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Larry’s River, with Father Frank Pellerin officiating. Burial was in St. Peter’s Parish Cemetery. Mrs. Power died June 19, 2019, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Larry’s River, she was a daughter of Alphonse and Clara Pellerin. She was a graduate of St. Martha’s Nursing School in Antigonish and spent most of her working life in pediatrics. She was actively involved in her church and participated on the parish council. As a proud Acadian, she enjoyed helping coordinate activities for the annual Acadian reunion which celebrates the Acadian heritage. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dr. John Power; two daughters, Joan (Carlos Lorencez), Michelle (Maurice Benchetrit); son, John (Lisset Rios); four grandchildren, Clara and Liam Bonnor, Daniel and Nicole Lorencez; four siblings, Barbara, Edward (Theresa), Lorraine (Bill) Black, Sylvester (Marilyn).
