EILEEN THERESA BRAY

Eileen Theresa Bray

Funeral service for the late Eileen Theresa Bray, 88, Park Lane, Antigonish, was held December 16 in St. Ninian Cathedral with Father Donald MacGillivray officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.       

Miss Bray died December 9, 2019, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital.     

Readers at the funeral Mass were Kathy Forbes and Elaine Bowie. Music was provided by St. Ninian Funeral Choir under the direction of Emery Van de Wiel.     

Pallbearers were David Chisholm, John Daniel Beaton, Peter Van Heighten, Fred Chisholm, John Haverkort and Terry Bray.     

Born in Copper Lake, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Walsh) Bray. She received her education in the Copper Lake School House. She was a substitute teacher prior to entering the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Martha.  Upon leaving the religious community, she worked at St. F. X. food services for 25 years until her retirement in 1996. She was a woman of great faith and was devoted to her parents for many years. She had a love of animals, especially cats, feeding many strays.      

She is survived by her sister, Isabel (James) Diorio, Montreal; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Agnes Rogers and Elaine Bowie.     

She was predeceased by brother, Vernon (Margaret) Bray.
