Ella Theresa Farrell
Funeral service for the late Ella Theresa Farrell, 88, St. Andrews, formerly of Erinville, was held May 10 in St. Thomas Church, Salmon River Lake, with Father Andrew Gillies officiating. Burial was in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Guysborough Intervale.
Mrs. Farrell died May 5, 2019, in the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish.
Readers at the funeral Mass were Jenna MacDonald and Kara Wallace. April Martell, Theresa Ann Sullivan and Lisa Avery presented the offertory gifts. Eucharistic ministers were Rose Morrison, Roy Lawlor and Eddie Hanifen. Music was provided by Tyrus Wallace.
Active pallbearers were Bill MacDonald, Liam MacDonald, Mike Wallace, Connor Wallace, Allan MacMullin and Gerard Farrell.
Honorary pallbearers were Carolyn Hodgeson, Margie MacDonald, Gillis Sullivan, Henry Doyle, Cecile Doyle, Mary Dunbar, Richard Dunbar, Betty Kavanagh, Donna Sullivan and Bill Brown.
Born in Erinville, Guysborough County, she was a daughter of the late Michael Edward and Mary (Halloran) Sullivan. She had a great wit, strong faith and she enjoyed playing cards. She lived all her life in Erinville until moving to SASHA in St. Andrews in 2008, where she made many wonderful friends.
She is survived by four children, Theresa (Allan) MacMullin, St. Joseph’s; Gerard (Anna), Blues Mills; Colleen (Bill) MacDonald, Ohio; Darlene (Mike) Wallace, Afton; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; special niece, Theresa Anne Sullivan; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Arthur; two sisters, Clara MacConnell, Annie Sullivan; three brothers, James, Billy and Michael Sullivan; companion, Doug Farrell.
