Funeral service for the late Emma Elizabeth (Delorey) Fraser, 84, Tracadie, Antigonish County, was held December 7 in St. Peter’s Church, Tracadie, with Father John Barry officiating, assisted by Father P.J. Baccardax and Deacon Art Riley. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Fraser died December 2, 2018, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Readers at the funeral Mass were Lynn Megeney and Diane Farrell. Altar servers were Donald Pitts, Myles Somers and Frank Machnik. Music was provided by Ty Wallace. Pallbearers were Phonse Benoit, Kenny DeCoste, Sonny Sampson, Ivan Mason, John Meagher and Bob Best. Born February 18, 1934, in Tracadie, she was a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Annie Jane (Pettipas) Delorey. She was a devoted Catholic and life-long member of St. Peter’s Parish. In 1950, she met Earl Fraser. They eventually married and had 38 years together prior to his passing in 1995. She is survived by four daughters, Linda (Don) Schaeffer, Calgary, Alberta; Earlene (Steve) Purcell, Oakville, Ontario; Cindy Smith (Rob McDougall), Etobicoke, Ontario; Cathy (Leonard) DeYoung, Tracadie; son, Terry (Cindy) Fraser, Port Perry, Ontario; eight grandchildren, Bradley (Kaylie Koger) DeYoung, Edmonton, Alberta; Marc (Candace) DeYoung, Frankville; Nicholas DeYoung, Tracadie; Shane and Matthew Schaeffer, both of Calgary, Alberta; Daniel and Eric Purcell, both of Oakville, Ontario; Amy Smith, Etobicoke, Ontario; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Peyton, Nicholas; great-great grandchild, Ellie; brother, George (Rita), Tracadie; five sisters, Mary Gaudreau, Antigonish; Kathleen (Peter) Schmitz, Toronto; Lillian Brister, Mattie Settlement; Isabel Burns, Tracadie; Nancy (Romeo) DiStefano, Tracadie; two sisters-in-law, Theresa Delorey, Florence Delorey; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl; grandson, Tyler Schaeffer; five brothers, Willy, John, Stanley, Buddy, Jim; four brothers-in-law, Chuck Brister, Pat Gaudreau, Archie Burns, Tony DeCoste; three sisters-in-law, Suzanne, Yvette, Viola.
