Funeral service for the late Emmett Wayne McGrath, 73, Porter’s Lake, was held November 14 in Holy Guardian Angels Church, L’Ardoise, with Father Antolin Asor officiating. Mr. McGrath died November 8, 2018. Readers at the funeral Mass were Edgar Wadden and Jason MacLean. Grandchildren Thomas McGrath and Josie McGrath presented the offertory gifts. Eucharistic minister was Marie Kemp. Music was provided by Holy Guardian Angels choir. Born December 18, 1944, in Lower L’Ardoise, Richmond County, he was a son of Thomas and Evelyn McGrath. He was a life-long teacher, whose career spanned many years on the Eastern Shore with students at Porter’s Lake, West Chezzetcook and Lawrencetown. He enjoyed running errands in the community and daily visits with his Tim Horton’s crew. In the years since his retirement, he was devoted to his grandchildren, attending hockey games and other sporting events, concerts and many other activities. He is survived by son, Stephen (Melanie); daughter, Maureen (Kyle); four grandchildren, Maiti, Ryan, Thomas, Josie; two sisters, Marie (Dave), Sharon; brother, Michael (Wanda), all of Richmond County; many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Margie; three siblings, Irene (Leo), Bobby (Pat), Ray (Cora).
