Funeral service for the late Ernest Lloyd Rudolph, 87, Sherbrooke, was held August 10 in St. Johns United Church, Sherbrooke, with Reverend Derek Elsworth officiating. Burial was in St. Johns Cemetery, Liscomb.

Funeral service for the late Ernest Lloyd Rudolph, 87, Sherbrooke, was held August 10 in St. Johns United Church, Sherbrooke, with Reverend Derek Elsworth officiating. Burial was in St. Johns Cemetery, Liscomb. Mr. Rudolph died August 6, 2018, in Highcrest Nursing Home, Sherbrooke. Born December 15, 1930, in Little Liscomb, he was a son of the late Scott and Laurie (Mailman) Rudolph. During his working life, he built boats, fished and spent many years on the water teaching his sons the fishing industry. He served 13 years on the Sherbrooke Village Community Association. He was a member of the PC Party of Nova Scotia, and was actively involved in political rallies and functions. He was very well known on the Eastern Shore and helped many people build boats. He was a member of St. Mary’s Gun Club, where he won many awards for his shooting accuracy. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Catherine, Sherbrooke; five sons, Vern (Debbie), Alberta; Gerald (Brenda), Ecum Secum; Larry (Nancy), Liscomb; Scott (Natalie), Corey (Nicole), both of Shelburne; four daughters, Sandra (Dennis), Sherbrooke; Leah (Juergen), Alberta; Jessie (Blaine), Ontario; Rachel (Wayne), Liscomb; daughter-in-law, Heather; 26 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph (Lorraine), Antigonish; Scott, Goshen; four sisters, Ethel Jeffers, Mahone Bay; Connie Jack, Port Bickerton; Marion (Calvin) Carol, Truro; Phylis James, Alberta. He was predeceased by son, Kevin; daughter, June, in infancy; sister, Edith; brother, Percy, in infancy.
