EVA MARIE SAMPSON

Funeral service for the late Eva Marie Sampson was held October 19 in St. James United Church, with Reverend Peter Smith officiating. Burial was in St. James/St. Paul Cemetery.

Ms. Sampson died October 12, 2019.

Music for the funeral service was provided by Tyrus Wallace.

Pallbearers were Ian Boyd, Gerald Pelly, Darlene Gaylor, Robert Cunningham, George Dimitropoulos and Gordie Keating.

Born in Montreal, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Helen (Pelley) Sampson. She enjoyed spending time watching the Montreal Canadiens, Days of Our Lives and anything good that was on TV.  She spent most of her life in Montreal, making life-long friends with Darlene, George, Susie, Rene, Pat and many more. She also made many good friends during her time at Canada Post.  Recently, after spending another eight years in Montreal, she and her daughter moved home in June of 2019 to be with her mother.

She is survived by her daughter, Channelle; sister, Gail (Jimmy) George, Antigonish; brother, Jahnyia Sampson, Antigonish; godchild, Latitia; Cassandra, Melda, and the rest of her extended family.

She was predeceased by her paternal and maternal grandparents; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to L’Arche Antigonish, St. James United Church or a charity of choice.
