Funeral service for the late Florence Ann Pellerin, 86, Antigonish, was held April 30 in St. Ninian Cathedral, with Father Ray Huntley officiating, assisted by Fathers Andrew Boyd, John Barry, Colin F. Mackinnon and Donald MacGillivray. Burial will be in St. Ninian’s Cemetery at a later date. Mrs. Pellerin died April 25, 2019, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital. Readers at the funeral Mass were Annette Hanifen (friend), KC Beaton (relative) and Rita Murray (friend). Grandchildren Chelsey Pelerin, Matthew Pellerin and Maggie Chisholm presented the offertory gifts. Music was provided by organist Emery van de Wiel, vocalist Verna MacDonald (friend), violinist John Pellerin (son), pianist Allan Dewar (friend), guitarist Kenny Stewart (friend) and whistle Heather MacIsaac (friend). Active pallbearers were sons-in-law, Donald Chisholm and Mark MacIsaac; grandson, Simon MacIsaac; cousins, Dougald MacDougall and Greg MacDougall; friend, Paul MacGillivray. Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren Brianna Pellerin, Caleigh Pellerin, Matthew Pellerin, Chelsey Pellerin, Abbey Chisholm, Maggie Chisholm and Lucy Chisholm. Born March 10, 1933, in New York City, she was a daughter of the late William Hugh and Mary Elizabeth (Beaton) McDonald. She is survived by her husband of 58 years; Kenneth; five children, Laura (Mark) MacIsaac, Ottawa; Kenneth (Michelle) Pellerin, Sydney; Bill (LeeAnn) Pellerin, St. Andrews; John Pellerin, Antigonish; Anne Marie (Donald) Chisholm, Antigonish; 11 grandchildren, Emily, Simon, Nicholas, Brianna, Caleigh, Matthew, Chelsey, Trevor, Abbey, Maggie, Lucy; two great-grandchildren, Mia, Harper; six siblings, Francis, Jean, Jackie, Collie, Carroll and Anne. She was predeceased by William, John, Billy, Della, Dougald, Christine, Mary Ruth; special parents, Uncle Jack and Aunt Annie MacDougall.
