FLORENCE MARY STEWART

Florence Mary Stewart

Funeral service for the late Florence Mary (Greene) Stewart, 95, Frasers Mills, Antigonish County, was held December 1 in King’s United Church, Loch Katrine, with Reverend Meredith Marple officiating. Burial was in King’s United Church Cemetery.     

Mrs. Stewart died November 25, 2019, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.     

Readers at the funeral service were grandchildren Patty Gurung, Liam Greene and Laurie Greene. Music was provided by piper Madelyn Evans Langlois and Tyrus Wallace.     

Urn bearers were grandsons Liam Greene and Neil Greene.     

Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of Dan and Mary (Luther) MacNeil. She worked at Mount St. Bernard in Antigonish for many years. She was a dedicated member of King’s United Church Choir.     

She is survived by two sons, Bob (Judy) Greene, Will (Samantha) Stewart, both of Frasers Mills; daughter, Betty (Blair) Greene, Pictou Landing; nine grandchildren, Patty (Mangal Gurung), Lisa, Laurie, Liam (Renee Kilburn), Devon (James Cameron), Colin, Neil, Brianna, Rowan; two great-grandchildren, Maya and Asha Gurung; sister, Enid Gosse; two sisters-in-law, Marie  (Dale) Gilliss, Joan MacNeil; brother-in-law, Bob (Beatrice) Stewart.     

She was predeceased by her first husband, Ranold Greene; second husband, Bill Stewart; sister, Kay Pick; two brothers, Currie and Bill MacNeil; stepmother, Myrtle (Lafford) MacNeil; two sisters-in-law, Eileen MacNeil and Betty Russell.     

Memorial donations may be made to King’s United Church Cemetery.
