Francis Joseph ‘Cooke’ Cooke

Funeral service for the late Francis Joseph ‘Cooke’ Cooke, 83, Louisdale, was held February 16 in St. Louis Church, Louisdale, with Father Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial will be in St. Louis Parish Cemetery at a later date. Mr. Cooke died February 10, 2019, in Louisdale. Born June 29, 1935, in Sydney, he was brought up by his aunt Jennie and uncle Charlie Boudreau, along with his two cousins Louis and Felix who he thought of as his brothers. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Elaine (Richard) Cooke; son, Lorne Francis, Louisdale; three grandchildren, Tyler, Meaghan, Jaime; four stepsisters, Betty Nash (Billy), Halifax; Sharon Buckland (Jacques Daigneault), Oyster Pond, Jeddore; Ann Hemmings (Danny), Sydney; Shirley Maxner (Gary), Halifax; stepbrother, Hartley Buckland, Halifax; special friend, Clem Bates. He was predeceased by four stepsisters, Josephine Perepiczka, Lorraine Donovan, Louise Rhymes, Susan Clements; step brother, John Buckley. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
