Fred Earl McCall

Funeral service for the late Fred Earl McCall, 94, Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough, formerly of Steep Creek, Guysborough County, was held April 6 in St. James Anglican Church, Middle Melford, with Reverend Susan Slater officiating. Burial was in St. James Cemetery. Mr. McCall died April 1, 2019. Born in Steep Creek, he was a son of the late William and Mabel (Hayden) McCall. He worked his entire life as a lobster fisherman and labourer, working many years at Pettipas’ Market in Auld’s Cove. He enjoyed gardening and was proud to be one of the first each spring to have his potatoes planted along the shore road. He enjoyed a playing crib and bingo. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters, Carrie MacPherson, Rhoda Hart, Emily Hart, Patricia Luddington; four brothers, William, Russell, MacKenzie; twin, Gordon.
