Gerald F. Melanson

Burial of the late Gerald F. Melanson, 72, Pomquet Point, Antigonish County, will be held in Ste Croix Cemetery, Pomquet, at a later date. Mr. Melanson died March 9, 2019, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Pomquet, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Durant) Melanson. He was employed as a groundskeeper and truck driver at St. F.X. University during his working life. He enjoyed tending his chickens, cutting wood and deer hunting. He helped with projects or anything else people needed. He is survived by his wife, Diane (Levangie); son, Jerry (Lisa), Pomquet; daughter, Rachel (Stephen) White, South River; two grandsons, Ryan, Declan; two step-grandsons, Robert and Riley Noble; brother, Wilfred, Tracadie; three sisters, Mary Ann Melanson, Pomquet; Jean Grant, St. Francis Harbour; Barbara Coffin, Regina; sister-in law, Isabel Levangie, Antigonish.
