GREG MACMILLAN

Greg Macmillan

Funeral service for the late Greg MacMillan, 65, Ajax, Ontario, was held July 15 in St. Peters Catholic Church, Port Hood, with Father Vincent VanZutphen officiating.

A celebration of life will be held in Ajax, at a later date.

Mr. MacMillan died July 8 in Cape Breton.

Born Oct. 24, 1953, and raised on Hawthrone Road, Port Hood, he was the son of the late Donald and Janet (MacDonell) MacMillan. He always put others before himself, having a very positive impact on those who were lucky enough to have the chance to know or meet him. He would put a smile on your face on your darkest days and his laugh is one that is unforgettable. His joy for the Toronto Maple Leafs was unsurpassed. He always enjoyed golfing with his family and hosting and participating in family get-togethers. His work ethic was second to none and he was “tough as nails.” He was a general contractor and jack-of-all trades; there was nothing he couldn’t fix. He ran a successful business Mac’s Bricklaying.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sharon (MacDonald) MacMillan; four children, Sean, Michael, Brenden, Kerry, all of Ajax;  two sisters, Arlene Cameron (Dan Hughie MacEachern), Judique; Judy Lewis (Michael), Beaumont, Alberta; brother, Brian (Linda), Port Hood;. two sisters-in-laws, Clara MacMillan, Barbara Mockford; many nieces and nephews;  his wife’s family, Peter MacDonald (Terry), John MacDonald (Kiki),  Jimmy MacDonald.

He was predeceased by his two brothers, John, Gerard; father and mother-in-law, Allen and Mary Jessie MacDonald; brother-in-law, Allen MacDonald.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s Parish Cemetery Fund, Port Hood.
