Funeral service for the late Harriet Christine ‘Hattie’ MacNeil, 98, St. Peter’s, was held January 16 in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, St. Peter’s, with Father Antolin Asor officiating. Burial will be held June 23 in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, St. Peter’s. Mrs. MacNeil died January 12, 2019, in Richmond Villa. Born June 23, 1920, in Souris, Prince Edward Island, she was a daughter of the late James and Annie (Fougere) Bouchard. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her son, James ‘Jimmy’ Michael (Marquerite MacDonald), Broad Cove; six grandchildren, Michael MacNeil, Russell MacNeil, Debbie Tobin, Lorraine Poirier, Denise Walker, Valerie Emin; 11 great-grandchildren, Christina Tobin, Rory Poirier, Ava Poirier, Lainie Poirier, Anna and Laura Walker, Brandy, Lindon MacNeil, Jade, Luke Emin, Daniel (Melissa) MacNeil; two great-great-grandchildren, Delia and Norman MacNeil. She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Joseph MacNeil; four brothers, Raymond ‘Roy’, William Alexander ‘Billy’, James Charles ‘Jim’, Maurice; five sisters, Adele, Violet Mildred, Rena Laka ‘Bessie’, Kathleen May ‘Pat’, Hattie.
