HELEN SMITH

Funeral service for the late Helen Theresa Smith, 79, Glen Haven Manor, formerly of New Glasgow, was held August 10 in R. H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, with Father Tom MacNeil officiating. Burial was in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Smith died August 5, 2018, in Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Archibald and Christina Catherine (Walsh) Boggs. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, going to bingo and TOPS. She is survived by four daughters, Roberta (Frank) Maas; Judy (Donald) Grady, both of Antigonish; Susan, Calgary, Alberta; Brenda (Leebret) Smith, Aspen; two sons, Jimmy, Banff, Alta.; Timmy (Elizabeth), Halifax; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dora Davidson, New Glasgow; Chris Rankin; Isabel LeBlanc, both of Halifax; three brothers, Jim (Margaret) Boggs, New Brunswick; Bill (Karen) Boggs, Toronto, Ontario; Robert (Joyce) Boggs, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Bert; son, Keith; sister, Edith MacPherson; brother, Alex. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
