Funeral service for the late Henry ‘Hank’ Timmons, 85, was held February 21 in St Matthew’s United Church, Inverness. Burial will be held at a later date. Mr. Timmons died February 17, 2019, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born April 15, 1933, in Inverness, he was a son of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Clark) Timmons. As a young man, he left Inverness to work in Ontario for a number of years and where he married, Audrey Taylor. They returned to Inverness, where he worked for Ocean Paving for a number of years, then for Nova Scotia Forest Industries in Port Hawkesbury for the next 33 years. An avid lover of sports, he played baseball for the Inverness Ravens, senior hockey and coached minor hockey. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Audrey; son, Hank (Lisa), Inverness; five brothers, James ‘Buddy’ (late Molly), Inverness; Alfred (late Valerie), Barrie, Ontario; Wilson (Pearl), West Bay; Douglas (Florence), Port Hawkesbury; Harvey (Anna), New Glasgow; four sisters, Betty (late Tony) Tonelli, Milton, Ontario; Joyce (Mack) MacPhee, Margaree; Donelda (late Lauchie) MacEachern, Port Hood; Doreen (late Phil) Scott, Barrie, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers, Donnie, at birth; Andrew (Doreen), Albert (Alice), Jackie, Edgar (Marilyn); sister, Wilma (Bill) Cameron.
