Isabel Margaret Williams

A graveside service for the late Isabel Margaret Williams, 78, Half Island Cove, Guysborough County, will be held in Lower Montague Cemetery, P.E.I., at a later date. Mrs. Williams died December 29, 2018, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born July 12, 1940, in Montague, Prince Edward Island, she was a daughter of the late Archibald and Helen (Aitken) Wight. She loved to travel and did so visiting relatives in the States and throughout Canada. She especially enjoyed her trips to Vancouver Island, Toronto and Newfoundland, visiting her siblings. She did volunteer work at various churches in and around Guysborough, providing service and home-made baked goods at funeral receptions, fundraisers and card plays. She helped by working at the annual Mackerel Derby, the Chedabucto Fire Department, fund-raised and provided gifts and prizes for many bingos, and the annual childrens’ Christmas party. Each Christmas children benefited from her gifts of hand-made toques and mittens. In 2016, she was recognized by her community and received an award from the Honourable Stephen McNeil, Premier of Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Community Services. She is survived by brother, Cephas ‘Bud’ Wight (Karen Schneider); two sisters, Cathy Garcin (Derek), Debbie Pater (Gus).
