J. Reginald ‘Reg’ Uloth
Funeral service for the late J. Reginald ‘Reg’ Uloth, 94, Antigonish, was held December 21 in St. Paul the Apostle Church, Antigonish, with Reverend Sue Channen officiating. Mr. Uloth died December 17. 2018. Eulogist at the funeral service was Harvey Ford. Readers were Alonzo Reddick, Emma MacIsaac and Rhoda Uloth. Music was provided by Hector MacIsaac and Joan Burchill. Active pallbearers were Ron Uloth, Shawn Uloth, Cole MacIsaac, Caleb MacIsaac, Rick Brown and Sandy Horne. Honorary pallbearers were Winston England, Bart Wainwright, Alonzo Reddick, Harvey Ford, Wayne Austen and Hector MacIsaac. Born in Guysborough County, he was a son of the late Richard and Olga (Ehler) Uloth. He served with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders during the Second World War and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #59, Antigonish. He worked for the Federal Department of Transport in Morristown from 1963 until his retirement. He was an active volunteer in his community; a member of Masonic Lodge #116; a member of the ROMEO Club and a member of Antigonish Duplicate Bridge. He is survived by his son, Rowland (Mary Mason) Burlington, Ontario; three daughters, Olga (Rick Brown), Hinton, Alberta; Marilyn Heeren, Hamilton, Ont.; Ann (Hector MacIsaac), Antigonish; nine grandchildren, Ronald, Shawn, Rhoda, Lorraine, James Emma, Amanda, Cole, Caleb; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nellie Gudger; brother, Carl Uloth; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Emma (Rudderham); second wife, Verna June (Wesley); daughter, Gloria; two brothers, Charles, Russell.
