JAMES MICHAEL KELLY
Funeral service for the late James Michael Kelly, 76, Havre Boucher, was held October 15 in St. Paul’s Church, Havre Boucher, with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Mulgrave, at a later date.
Mr. Kelly died October 9, 2019, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born July 1, 1943, in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Alonzo ‘Lon’ and Agnes (Carter) Kelly. In earlier years, he worked in Northern Quebec on the rail line for QCM. He later travelled to British Columbia to work for a mining company. He eventually moved back to his home province, where he worked for AECL of Canada. Later on, he established his own business, Workmans. In his most recent years, he worked in Fort McMurray, where he operated and ran one of his three dump trucks for E Construction. He enjoyed music, dancing, teasing people snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and his cottage.
He is survived by son, Michael (Debra) Kelly; daughter, Stacey Kelly; three grandchildren, Karter (Brett), Kaitlyn (Kevin), Joshua; great granddaughter, Briar; brother, Dennis (Theresa) Kelly; two sisters, Ruth Buckley, Evelyn (Tony) Damdrauskas; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one granddaughter, in infancy; sister, Helen; two brothers, Johnny, Frank.
