JOHN FRANCIS COTIE

Funeral service for the late John Francis Cotie was held August 23 in St. Peter’s Church, Tracadie, with Father John Barry officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.

 Mr. Cotie died August 17, 2019.

Readers at the funeral Mass were Pauline Spin and Sheila Boudreau. Music was provided by Ty Wallace.

Honorary pallbearers were Danny Bowie, Jimmy MacEachern, Donnie Mattie, Kevin Mattie, Dominic Tate and Paul Spin.

Born November 18, 1961, he was a son of the late Grace (Myette) and Ernest Cotie.  He worked road construction for many years. He was also an avid woodsman and fisherman's helper. He had a deep appreciation for family, friends and a good card game. He was a sociable man and loved a good party.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cindy (Jeffrey); two sons, Patrick (Michelle), Leduc; Evan, at home; seven siblings, Anne, Tony (Brenda), Ursula, Peggy, Angus (Dorothy), Laura, Sheila (Gary); brother-in-law, Bill (Shelly) Jeffrey.

He was predeceased by sister, Christina, in infancy; two brothers, Gerard, Hughie; sister-in-law, Jane; five brothers-in-law, Clarence Boudreau, Lloyd Doyle, Don Purdy, Ray Ehler, Myles MacPherson.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's CWL, Tracadie Cemetery Fund or to a charity of choice.
