JOHN ‘PHILIP’ COTIE

Funeral service for the late John ‘Philip’ Cotie, 58, St. Peter’s, was held July 6 in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter’s, with Father Antolin Asor officiating.

Mr. Cotie died July 1, 2019, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston.

Born June 13, 1961, in Sydney, he was a son of Phonse and Shirley Cotie, St. Peter’s. He lived his entire life in St. Peter’s and was an integral part of the village. He mowed lawns, shoveled snow and did many errands for the people of the community, especially seniors.

Besides his parents, he is survived by brother, David (Mary) Cotie, Grand Greve; sister, Andrea (Peter) Melnyk, Tantallon; four nieces, Tanya Fitzpatrick, Shauna Cotie, Kristen and Alyssa Melnyk; two nephews, Dennis Delorey, Connor Melnyk; great-niece and nephews, Logan, Brian, Duke, JR.

Memorial donations may be made to Strait Richmond Healthcare Foundation or a charity of choice.
