Joseph Cornelius Marchand

Funeral service for the late Joseph Cornelius Marchand, 90, Port Hawkesbury, formerly of Louisdale, was held April 23 in St. Louis Church, Louisdale, with Father Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial was in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisdale. Mr. Marchand died April 15, 2019, in Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home, Port Hawkesbury. Born in Louisdale, he was a son of the late William and Evangeline (Boudreau) Marchand. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jacqueline (Samson); three daughters, Sandra (Blaine) Landry, Antigonish, Ann Pettipas (Lloyd), Pondville, Denise (Robert) Windle, Inverness; two sons Gerard (Jane), Port Hawkesbury, Peter (Josephine), Louisdale; 13 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 16 great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; sister, Priscilla Samson, Louisdale. He was predeceased by son, Kevin; six brothers, Lawrence, Danny, Anthony, Willie, Raymond; Leo, in infancy; five sisters, Irene, Theresa, Catherine, Celina, Maude.
