Funeral service for the late Josephine ‘Jose’ Doucet, 94, was held March 16 in Stella Maris Church, Inverness, with Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Mrs. Doucet died March 12, 2019, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born October 20, 1924, in Inverness, she was a daughter of the late James Angus ‘Jim Angus’ and Mary Margaret ‘Red Margaret’ (MacNeil) MacIsaac. She led an active life, loved skating, country music, and scotch music (especially good fiddle music). She took great pride as a homemaker, cook and baker. She taught the importance of good values, family, and was proud to live a “good clean life”. She enjoyed a good joke, playing cards, a cup of hot tea, crocheting mats, needle point, ceramic pottery, decorating, chocolates and home-made squares. She is survived by three children, Francis Gordon, Paula Marie, Darryl Thomas (Nicolette) Doucet; three grandchildren, Dylan Thomas, Madeleine Jose’ Maria, Aaron Paul Cornelis Doucet; five siblings, Rita (late Alex) Gillis, Muriel (late Hughie) MacDonald, Mary Ellison, Camilla (late Gerald) Tompkins, James (Chris) MacIsaac; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Angus Doucet; two sisters, Rosalia, Regina; brother, Francis (Red).
