KAREN MONICA MACLEAN
Funeral service for the late Karen Monica MacLean, 50, Montaque, Prince Edward Island, was held November 29 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Montague. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
A funeral service will be held December 14 at 11 a.m. in St. Ninian Cathedral, Antigonish, with Father Donald MacGillivray officiating.
Mrs. MacLean died November 25, 2019, in Kings County Memorial Hospital.
Children Patrick, Rosemarie and Frederick placed the pall at the funeral Mass. Readers were Brian Rector, Sister Elizabeth Dunn and Pat McGowan. Nieces Jessica, Christina and Emmerson presented the offertory gifts. Eucharistic minister was Nancy Matheson.
Active pallbearers were Patrick MacLean, Charles Elwood, Scott MacLean, John MacLean, John Aylward, Jason Shepard, James Irving and Jason McCarron.
Honorary pallbearers were Vera Dewolf, Holly Chian, Connie McGough, Mona Birtwistle, Melodie Perrot, Lori Anderson, Heather Sauidant and Norma Dingwell.
Born November 5, 1969 in Antigonish, she was a daughter of Joe and Lillian (Farrell) Murphy, Lanark. She was employed with Sobeys for more than 30 years.
Besides her parents, she is surivived by her husband, Joe MacLean; three children, Patrick (Robin) MacLean, Rosemarie (Charles) Elwood, Frederick MacLean; four grandchildren, Thomas, Aly, Warren, Winston; three siblings, Terry (Tammy) Murphy, Mary Ellen Murphy (Trevor Deyoung), Alan (Melissa) Murphy, Antigonish; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Joyce Murphy.
