KEITH VAN DEN BROEK
Burial of the late Cornelius ‘Keith’ Van Den Broek Glen Road, Antigonish County, was held July 22 in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Mr. Van Den Broek died July 18, 2019, in R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish,
Born in Opmeer, The Netherlands, he was a son of the late Antonius and Anna (Stam) Van Den Broek. He emigrated to Canada through Pier 21 in 1956. He boarded the train from Halifax to Sydney, where he lived until 1961 when he purchased a farm in Glen Road, where he farmed and worked as a pulp cutter.
He is survived by his former wife, Mary Louise (Lordly), Antigonish; six daughters, Ann (Craig Corbett), Central Caribou; Josephine, Antigonish; Linda (Alan) MacLeod, Antigonish; Joan, Dartmouth; Rosie (George) Bowles, Antigonish; Margie (Dale Villeneuve), Edmonton; son, Kevin, Toronto; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Lena, Holland; long-time companion, Anita Greencorn; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by son, Peter; one grandson, in infancy; two brothers, Piet, Frans.
Memorial donations may be made to the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home or the Canadian Cancer Society.
