Kenneth J. Walker

Funeral service for the late Kenneth Joseph ‘Kenny’ Walker, 73, Louisdale, was held June 6 in St. Louis Church, Louisdale, with Father Joe MacKenzie officiating. Burial was in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisdale. Mr. Walker died May 29, 2018, in St. Martha’s Hospital in Antigonish. Born November 6, 1944, in Halifax, he was a son of the late Frederick and Anastasia (O’Leary) Walker. He was a long serving member of the Louisdale Lions Club and was a steadfast and generous volunteer – barbecuing for the extravaganza, selling Christmas trees in winter and watering the flowers in summer. He was a past member of St. Louis Hall Committee and for many years was behind the bar at wedding dances. He enjoyed music and song. He is survived by his wife, Elaine; daughter, Melissa Walker (Yvon Audet), Ottawa; two sons, Chris Walker (Peggy LeBlanc), Carleton Place, Ontario; Kevin Walker, Port Hawkesbury; four grandchildren, Tiffany, Shaily, Kyden, Layken; two brothers, Albert (Jeanette) George, Louisdale; Eldon (Shirley) George, Petit de Grat; two sisters, Kay Armsworthy, Sheet Harbour; Margaret Barter (Ken), Edmonton; many nieces and nephews.
