Lawrence ‘Aubrey’ Giffin
A celebration of life for the late Lawrence ‘Aubrey’ Giffin, 89, Malagash, Cumberland County, formerly of Antigonish and Goldboro will be held in Goldboro at a later date. A private family burial was held in Bayview Cemetery, Goldboro, with Lewis MacIntosh officiating. Mr. Giffin died December 3, 2018, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born September 27, 1929, in Goldboro, he was a son of the late Parker and Lillian (MacArthur) Giffin. He left Goldboro at an early age, worked at Silver’s Dry Cleaners, Canadian Tire, Kadray’s Furniture Store and retiring from Mike’s Home Furnishings. Following retirement, he moved to Wentworth, then settled in Malagash Point. He enjoyed music and had a quick wit, always ready to tell a joke or story. He is survived by his partner of 34 years, Faye Henderson, Malagash; two sisters, Irene (Ed) Tremblett, Truro; Donalda (Ernie) Hafey, Antigonish; brother, Wayne (Vivian), Goldboro and Largo, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Laureen and Nina Giffin; many nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by two sisters, Dot (Ralph) Whittier, Rita; two brothers, Oland, Robert; two brothers-in-law, Earl Sponagle, Spurgeon Fraser. Memorial donations may be made to Hope for Wildlife.
