Funeral service for the late Leo Everett Pellerine, 83, Merland, Antigonish County, was held June 15 in St. Peter’s Church, Tracadie, with Father John Barry officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. Pellerine died June 9, 2019, in R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish. Readers at the funeral Mass were Jeanette Benoit and Judy Ehler. Music was provided by Tracey Wallace. Pallbearers were John Bonvie, Jody Bowman, Tommy Huntley, Karl Pelrine, Theo Kersten and Paul Ehler. Born in Tracadie, he was a son of the late James and Mary (O’Brien) Pelrine. He was employed as a welder with Trenton Works for many years. He enjoyed fishing, cutting and stacking wood and carpentry work. He is survived by daughter, Mona, Merland; four sons, Roddie (Carolyn), Havre Boucher; Clifford (Donna), Leon, Kingston, Ontario; Brian, Merland; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Theo) and Dakota Osmond; Justin (Carrie) Pelrine, Tyler Pelrine, Koryssa (Cody) Leaver, Luka and Saule Pellerine; great-grandson, Cooper; brother, Lawrence; two daughters-in-law, Clare, Oksana; friend, Darrell. He was predeceased by his wife of more than 50 years, Dianne (Halloway); three children, Michael, in infancy; Linda, Jody; seven brothers, Jimmy, Michael, William, Charles, Patrick, Ambrose, Roddie; three sisters, Agnes Bowman, Alice Bonvie, Margaret Pellerine.
