Leona Mae Peddle

Funeral service for the late Leona Mae Peddle, 64, Potlotek, was held March 2 in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, St. Peter’s, with Father Antolin Asor officiating. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Barra Head, at a later date. Mrs. Peddle died February 24, 2019, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born May 24, 1954, in Barra Head, she was the daughter of the late Mary C. (Vincent) O’Toole and was raised by her grandparents Joe and Susie Vincent. She enjoyed gardening and cats. She is survived by two sons, Carl Vincent, Frank Patterson; eight siblings, Mary Lou (Ed), Rose, Vernon (Mary), Ernest (Karen), Anna, Shirley (Keith), Loretta, Jenny (James); aunt-godmother, Agnes (John) Johnson; many nieces and nephews; good friend, Hughie Clorey. She was predeceased her husband, Arthur Peddle; uncle, Eugene Vincent; godfather, Thomas Marshall. Memorial donations may be made to the Chapel Island Mission Fund.
