Leonard Joseph Druhan

Funeral service for the late Leonard Joseph ‘Lenny’ Druhan, 83, Antigonish, was held August 12 in St. Ninian Cathedral with Father Donald MacGillivray officiating, assisted by Deacon Art Riley.  Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Druhan died August 6, 2019, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital.

Readers at the funeral Mass were Justin MacKay and Candace MacKenzie. Donalda Armsworthy and Stephanie MacKeen presented the offertory gifts. Music was provided by Ty Wallace.

Urn bearer was Debbie MacKay.

Born December 22, 1935, in Ohio, Antigonish County, he was a son of the late Aubrey and Catherine (Chisholm) Druhan. He was a lifelong painter and was well-known in the community. He was a dedicated volunteer at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home. He was a proud father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing and hunting until recently.  

He is survived by five children, Debbie (Gerard) MacKay, Saltsprings; Gerard (Ginny), Dartmouth; Sharon (Bruce) Patzer, Chestermere, Alberta; Ken (Jackie), Lantz; Derek (Candace MacKenzie), Antigonish;  their mother, Ann Theriault; six grandchildren, Justin, Rachel, Mark, Gavin, Gillian, Harrison; eight siblings, Mary Carroll, Georgina Cameron, Jean (Doug) Cameron, Margie (Placide) Cameron, Sandy (Diane), Ann (Jimmy) Delorey, Aubrey, Marion (Frank) Delorey.

He was predeceased by grandson, Trevor MacKay; brother, Benny.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Martha’s Regional Hospital Foundation or a charity of choice.
