LORNIE MARSHALL LANGLEY
A celebration of life for the late Lornie Marshall Langley, 88, Country Harbour, Guysborough County, will be held at a later date.
Mr. Langley died August 26, 2019, in High-Crest Sherbrooke Home for Special Care.
Born in Isaac’s Harbour, he was a son of the late Chester and Lottie (Clyburne) Langley. Being part of a large family during the late 1940s, he left home as a teenager to work on the Great Lakes for several years, to help support his family. In the 1950s, he returned home to work in both construction and forestry. He enjoyed his camp, music, hunting, fishing, good jokes, animals, nature and little children.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris (Porter); two daughters, Rosa (Doug) Dort, Country Harbour; Carolyn Hodgson, St. Andrews; four grandchildren, Matthew (Kara) Dort, New Glasgow; Mark (Tanya) Dort, Antigonish; Jacqueline (Carl) Smith, Country Harbour; Marsha (Lyle) Barron, Country Harbour; seven great-grandchildren, Braxton, Bria and Denver Dort, Luke Smith (Megan Masters), Brooke Smith (Willie Taillon); Brittany Hodgson, Spencer Barron; three great-great-grandsons, Maxim Hodgson-Kaiser, Jaxin and Noah Smith; three brothers, Seymour, Antigonish; Reggie (Darlene), Isaac’s Harbour; Rollie (Ella), Country Harbour; two sisters, Lillian Henderson, Antigonish; Margaret Byrne, Massachusetts; several nieces, nephews and their families.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Everett, James; four sisters, Helen MacLennan, Chris Matheson, Adeline Smith and Winnie Cleversey.
Memorial donations may be made to the Dr. Bruce Stephenson Unit at High-Crest Sherbrooke Home for Special Care or Parkinson Canada.
