Louise Muriel Paon
Funeral service for the late Louise Muriel Paon, 87, St. Peters, was held June 25 in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Paon died June 20, 2019, in Richmond Villa, St. Peters. Born October 25, 1931, in Montreal, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Mary (Carter) Burke. She was an employee of the Toronto Dominion Bank, in both Montreal and Port Hawkesbury. She also worked as a pastry cook and front desk receptionist at The Inn on the Canal in St. Peter’s. She had a strong sense of community service and volunteered many hours. She was a member of the West Arichat CWL and the St. Peter’s Altar Society, using her cooking and sewing talents to help fundraise for many of their functions. She was also a regular lector for weekday masses at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Jane) Paon, Cornwall, Ontario; Walter (Barbara) Paon, Middle Sackville; daughter, Donna (James) Boudreau, West Arichat; daughter-in-law, Paula Paon, Sydney; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Selina Burke, Truro; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, ‘Baby Walter’, in infancy; Glen; three sisters, one in infancy; Margaret Sampson, Ester Albertson; one brother, in infancy.
