MALCOLM 'MACKIE' LEONARD HARRIS MACLEAN

Funeral service for the late Malcolm ‘Mackie’ Leonard Harris MacLean, 93, Rear Black River Rd., Dundee, Richmond County, was held December 20 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury, with Reverend Connie McNamara officiating. Burial was in Black River Cemetery.

Mr. MacLean died December 16, 2019, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston.

Born February 26, 1926, in Dundee, he was a son of the late Charles Harris and Sarah (MacLean) MacLean. He was a well-known Mink Rancher for 70 years. He was a member of the Mink Breeder Association of Nova Scotia. He held a pilot’s licence and had owned two airplanes; a piper and a cub. He was a lifetime member of the Carpenters and Joiners Union Local. He was also a member of the United Church of Canada.

He is survived by sister, Ina Marshall, Dundee; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Helen (McLellan); two brothers, Elwin, Charlie; two sisters, Audrey, Jenny.

Memorial donations may be made to Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society or to a charity of choice.
