Margaret Rita MacLellan

Funeral service for the late Margaret Rita MacLellan, 90, Deepdale, Inverness, was held April 29 in Stella Maris Church, Inverness, with Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery at a later date. Mrs. MacLellan died April 22, 2019, in Inverary Manor. Born October 18, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Peter Jack and Rebecca Coady, South West Margaree. She worked for many years as a cook, but her proudest position was head cook at the Inverness Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Inverness CWL, as well as one of the founding members of the South West Margaree Seniors Club. She filled her home with baking, her garden flowers, homemade quilts, her woodworking projects and her paintings. She enjoyed playing cards and was happiest when singing and dancing with her friends and family. She is survived by seven children, Kay MacLellan, Windsor, Ontario; Susan (Aaron) Gaudet, Bridgewater; Linda (Brian) MacMillan, Port Hood; Judy (Warren) Leadbetter, Toronto; Barbara MacLellan (Stephen MacDonald), Fall River; Donnie MacLellan, Deepdale; Peter (Christy) MacLellan, Edmonton; nine grandchildren, Jason, Mike, Sarah, Nicole, Joshua, Coady, Alaura, Miagh, Winnie; seven great-grandsons, London, Ace, Cole, Desmond, Rory, Grayson, Declan; sister, Jessie Tompkins, North East Margaree; sister-in-law, Shirley Coady. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Angus Dan MacLellan; son, Donnie, in infancy; sister, Katherine; two brothers, John A; Martin, in infancy; son-in-law, Lloyd MacLellan.
