Funeral service for the late Marilyn Ethel Haines, 76, Little Dover, Guysborough County, was held March 12 in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little Dover, with Father Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery at a later date. Mrs. Haines died March 8, 2019, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Arichat, she was a daughter of the late Homer and Edith (McGrath) Nickerson. She was a member of St. Agnes Parish, Little Dover and a former member of St. Agnes Parish Auxiliary. She was known for her knitting, having knitted more than 200 dish cloths. She enjoyed going to bingo and spending time with her family. She is survived by daughter, Melonie Haines, Lower Sackville; three sons, Darren (Tammy) Nickerson, Halifax; Tracey Haines, Little Dover; Danny (Denise) Haines, Halifax; two granddaughters, Jessica, Memory; great-grandson, Liam; two sisters, Pat Pope, Ontario; Darlene Munroe, Halifax; sister-in-law, who was like a sister to her, Celene (Arnold) Rhynold, Queensport; brother, Doug (Bev) Nickerson, Little Dover; uncle, Mort McGrath, Arichat.
