MARY ANNETTE CHIASSON

Funeral service for the late Mary ‘Annette’ Chiasson, 81, Antigonish, was held December 12 in St. Ninian Cathedral with Father Donald MacGillivray officiating, assisted by Father Callistus Abazie. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery, Guysborough Intervale, at a later date.

Mrs. Chiasson died November 27, 2019, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Readers at the funeral Mass were Jane Anne Howard, Darryl Carroll and Roberta Rogers. Barry and Paul Purcell presented the offertory gifts. Eucharistic minister was George Rodgers. Music was provided by St. Ninian Funeral Choir.

Born in Guysborough, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Frances (Rogers) Purcell. She worked in the dietary department of St. Martha’s Regional Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing bingo.

She is survived by two daughters, Andrea Gerrior (Thomas Pellerine), Angela (Jack) Cameron, Antigonish; son, Joey (Cathy) Fenton, Antigonish; four granddaughters; two great-grandsons; several stepchildren; brother, Bernard, Antigonish; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; three brothers, Joe, Frank, Henry; sister, Margie.
