MARY CATHERINE GERRIOR

Funeral service for the late Mary Catherine Gerrior, 97, Johnstown, Richmond County, was held December 9 in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Johnstown, with Father John Yake officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Gerrior died December 2, 2019, in Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home.

She was the daughter of the late Neil and Katie Campbell. She was very devoted to her Catholic faith. Not a day would go by without her sitting in her rocking chair saying the rosary and praying for anyone who needed a special blessing. She was proud of her Scottish heritage and her Gaelic language, which she spoke and sang. She enjoyed participating in the annual Johnstown Milling Frolic.

She is survived by son, Neil Gerrior; two daughters, Annie (Pius) White, Mary Josephine (Terry) McNamara; two daughters-in-law, Mary Anita Gerrior,  Barb Mitchell; 14 grandchildren, Joey, Michael, Cathy, Eleanor, Shannon, Sheldon, Shane, Tyson, Bradley, Chad, Travis, Yvette, Greg, Andrea; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; friends, Theresa and Eleanor MacNeil; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Gerrior; son, George Gerrior; two daughters, Patricia (Vincent) McNamara, Jean (Blair) McNamara; foster son, Henry Mitchell; three brothers, Joseph, Daniel and Roddie Campbell.

Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine or a charity of choice.
