Mary Edna George

Funeral service for the late Mary Edna George, 97, formerly of Janvrin’s Island, will be held at a later date. Mrs. George died April 18, 2019, in Richmond Villa, St. Peter’s. Born in D’Escousse, she was a daughter of the late James and Hortense (Poirier) McGrath. She was a woman of strong faith who loved her family dearly. She especially enjoyed visits from her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members. She is survived by her son-in-law, Gerard LeBlanc, Petit de Grat; two grandsons, Barry (Heather) LeBlanc, Rocky Bay; Brian (Darcelle) LeBlanc, Martinique; five great-grandchildren, Logan, Emma, Parker, Owen, Quinn; brother, Sanford (Theresa) McGrath, Dartmouth; sister, Lorraine (Edmund) George, Port Hawkesbury. She was predeceased by her husband, Ambrose George; son, Barry, in infancy; daughter, Linda LeBlanc; two sisters, Marion Miller, Mildred Pelham; three brothers, Wilfred, Stephan and Francis McGrath.
