Mary Elizabeth Heighton

Funeral service for the late Mary Elizabeth Heighton, 92, Guysborough, was held March 30 in St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Guysborough, with Father Callistus Abazie officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Heighton died March 24, 2019, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late William and Winnifred Jamieson, Queensport. A woman of many talents, she enjoyed quilting, knitting, needlepoint and crocheting. She was a great fan of video games, especially Tetris. She had a sense of humor and was very determined and feisty-spirited. She is survived by son, Gerry (Evelyne) Jamieson, Guysborough; daughter, Carol (Al) Leonard, Peterborough, Ontario; eight grandchildren, Kim Richardson-Hall, Cheryl Richardson, Alanna, Jennifer and Geoffrey Jamieson, Amanda Russon, Larry and Kyle Heighton; nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Irving; daughter, Marilyn Richardson; son, Victor. Memorial donations may be made to St. Ann’s Cemetery Fund or a charity of choice.
