Funeral service for the late Mary Laura Chisholm, 56, Truro, formerly of Antigonish, was held September 10 in St. Peter’s Church, Tracadie, with Father John Barry officiating. assisted by Deacon Art Riley. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Ms. Chisholm died September 5, 2019, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre.

Readers at the funeral Mass were sisters Cathy Berkvens, Karen MacDonald and Lynn McGill. Charleigh Weckman, Nicole McGill and Nora Myette presented the offertory gifts. Eucharistic minister was Laura Berkvens. Music was provided by Tyrus Wallace.

Urn bearers were nephews Todd Myette, Ryan Myette, Porter Myette, Aidan Myette and brothers Steve Myette, Ron Myette, David Myette and Paul Myette.

Born December 3, 1962, she was a daughter of Theresa (Pettipas) Myette and the late Charles Myette, Tracadie. Her proudest accomplishments were her children with whom she embraced every moment. She especially loved her role as Nana.  She had a vivacious personality and always made people laugh. Her greatest pleasure in life was to gather her family together and celebrate. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining and was a Montreal Canadiens fan. She had a special gift in her ability to connect with seniors. Throughout her career, countless families were touched by her kindness, compassion, and humour.

She is survived by three children, Shannon (Matthew) Weckman, Emily Chisholm (Russell), Gregory Chisholm (Kendall); two grandchildren, Charleigh and Austin Weckman; seven siblings, Cathy (Peter) Berkvens, Karen (Donnie) MacDonald, Steve (Cathy) Myette, Ron (Trish) Myette, David (Kara) Myette, Paul (Jennifer) Myette, Lynn (Brian) McGill; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by maternal and paternal grandparents; many aunts and uncles, Joe Myette.
