Funeral service for the late Mary Lorraine Richard, 87, Arichat, was held February 8 in Our Lady of Assumption Church, Arichat, with Father Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial will take place in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery at a later date. Born March 2, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Alcide and Eva (Richard) Marchand. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 47 and Br. 150, as well as a member of the former Ladies Auxiliary Br. 150 for more than 25 years. She enjoyed old country and fiddle music and loved to dance. She also enjoyed playing cards, particularly crib on Monday nights, and with her great grandson, Lucas. She was an avid bingo player and faithfully worked the legion bingo. She is survived by four sons, John (Aurine), Roy (Giselle), Glen (Donna), all of Arichat; Andre, Kentville; six grandchildren, Ryan, Tanya, Bailey, Angel, Tristan, Taigan; four great-grandchildren, Lacey, Lindsay, Lucas, Reese; five sisters, Eva, Edith, Etta, Francine, Delia; three brothers, Fred, Venere, Bernard. She was predeceased by her husband, Simon; great-grandson, Lexton; three sisters, Clarisse, Agnes, Lucille; four brothers, Velma, Arthur, Francois; Alderic, in infancy.
