Mary P. Morrison

Funeral service for the late Mary Pauline Morrison, 83, Erinville, Guysborough County, was held June 4 in St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Salmon River Lake, with her son, Father John Morrison, officiating, assisted by Fathers Andrew Boyd, Keith Kennisic and Callistus Abazie. Burial was in St. Thomas Parish Cemetery. Mrs. Morrison died May 30, 2018, in Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Cross bearer at the funeral Mass was son Mike Morrison. Readers were daughters Rose Morrison, Theresa Morrison and her granddaughters Jennifer Cashin and Hannah Kelly. Altar server was Roy Lawlor. Music was provided by St. Thomas Parish choir and brother Rod MacDonald (accordion at the grave). Pallbearers were sons, Earl, Billy and Leo Morrison and grandsons, Jeremy, Kyle and Jordan. Born in Salmon River Lake, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late Francis and Rose Ellen (Burns) MacDonald. She worked preparing Christmas trees and wreaths, as well as being a clerk at Morrison’s General Store in Erinville. She was a member of St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Salmon River Lake and the St. Thomas Ladies Aide. She is survived by two daughters, Theresa (Russell Morris), Lincolnville; Rose (Sandy Benoit), Erinville; six sons, Allan, Burlington, Ontario; Earl, Ogden; Fr. John, Erinville; Billy (Patricia), Fall River; Michael (Margaret Ellen), Erinville; Leo (Donna), Linwood; 14 grandchildren, Laura, Rosalie, Karrie, Sylvia, Jeremy, Charita, Erin, Hannah, Kyle, Deirdre, Jordan, Ashlin, Alyssa, Jennifer; five great-grandchildren, Thomas, Mary Magdelene, MJ, Kameron, Stephanie; sister, Millie (Jack) Forbes, Dartmouth; brother, Rod, Salmon River Lake; four sisters-in-law, Mary MacDonald (late Hugh Jo), R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish; Alexina MacDonald (late Ed), Antigonish; Christine MacDonald (late Bob), Linwood; Kaye MacDonald, Erinville. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; granddaughter, Stephanie; four brothers, Bern, Bob, Joe, Ed; sister and brother-in-law, Kaye and James Farrell.
