MARY RITA ROBERTSON

Funeral service for the late Mary Rita Robertson, 97, was held January 4 in Humphrey Funeral Home, Toronto.

Mrs. Robertson died December 29, 2019, in Chartwell Gibson Long Term Care Centre, North York.

Born January 20, 1922, she was a daughter of the late William Hector and Elizabeth (Siddall) MacDonald. As a young woman, she moved to Halifax where she met her first husband Arthur Chapman who was missing in action over the Atlantic shortly after their marriage.  She then moved to Toronto where she met her second husband Lloyd George Robertson. They built their lives in Toronto with summer visits to Nova Scotia and to their much-loved cottage on Georgian Bay.

She is survived by sister, Alma MacLean, Maryvale; brother, Dougall MacDonald, Toronto; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews from the MacDonald and Robertson families.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur Chapman; second husband; Lloyd George Robertson; son, David Lloyd Robertson; four brothers, Francis (Florence), Roy (Clara), Lewis (Evelyn), Bernard; three sisters, Theresa, Louise (John), Helen (Ulrich).
