Funeral service for the late Mary Winifred ‘Winnie’ Dort,   84, will be held at a later date in Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, St. Louis, Prince Edward Island.
Mrs. Dort died May 2, 2019, in St Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Funeral service for the late Mary Winifred ‘Winnie’ Dort, 84, will be held at a later date in Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, St. Louis, Prince Edward Island. Mrs. Dort died May 2, 2019, in St Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born December 14, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Alma (Perry) Thibodeau. She moved to Nova Scotia, where she worked at St. Martha’s Hospital and the Bayfield fish plant. Here she met and married lobster fisherman, Francis Dort and started a home on the Old Ferry Road in Bayfield. She enjoyed music and spent her time singing and dancing with friends at the Highland Crest Nursing Home. She is survived by two daughters, Mary (David), Clementine (Jack); son, John (Kim); three grandchildren, Samuel (Terry), Jessica (Ryan), Gloria (Nick); four brothers, Wilcy Thibodeau (Alice), Roy Thibodeau (Dorothy), Wilbert Thibodeau (Arlene), Arthur Thibodeau; three sisters, Delia Gaudet (Nelson), Maryann Smith (Steve), Alice Jones (Ronnie). She was predeceased by her husband, Francis; twin sister, Milda Thibodeau; brother, Velton Thibodeau. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. Online condolences: www.MacIsaacs.ca
