Mavis Anne Boudreau
Funeral service for the late Mavis Anne Boudreau, 74, Petit de Grat, was held October 9 in St. Joseph’s Church, Petit de Grat, with Father Michel Exhalant officiating. Burial was in Star of the Sea Cemetery, Petit de Grat.
Mrs. Boudreau died October 2, 2018, in the QEII Health Science Centre, Halifax.
Born August 30, 1944, in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Claire MacNeil. She was a teacher for 33 years with the Richmond Regional School Board, until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of NSTU Richmond Local, New Horizon’s Seniors Club and an Associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150. She was a very active parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church in Petit de Grat. She helped in many community events. She especially enjoyed the Christmas Service of Remembrance that she dedicated so much of her time and skills to make sure that things were always perfect for the people in the community who had lost their loved ones due to death. Since 2005, she was one of the first volunteers to work with the local funeral home in planning and developing their Service of Remembrance. She enjoyed crafts, playing cards and special events.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Claude; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her godmother, Cecelia Mombourquette; godfather, Con Mombourquette, grandmother, Jenny MacNeil.
