Michael Joseph LeBlanc

Funeral service for the late Michael Joseph LeBlanc, 87, Margaree Harbour, was held May 13 in St. Michaels Church, East Margaree, with Father MacDonald Ibeh officiating. Mr. LeBlanc died May 8, 2019, in Inverary Manor, Inverness. Born December 12, 1931, he grew up in Margaree Harbour and spent his working life as a fisherman, mailman and bus driver. He married Carmella (MacKinnon) on November 4, 1961, and spent 53 years together. He enjoyed the ocean, his garden and playing cards. He is survived by eight children, Wayne (Odette), Diane (Mark) Blok, Paula (Blaise) MacDonnell, Kevin (Heather), Owen (Lucille), Cathy (Kevin) Hughes, Gary (Tanya), Steven (Margaret); 21 grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas (Bertha) LeBlanc, Albert (Alice) LeBlanc, Johnny (Carol) LeBlanc; three sisters, Teresa (Len) Burt, Dorothy (John Archie) Mackenzie, Marie (Frank) Pittman. He was predeceased by his wife, Carmella; three brothers, Francis, Leo and Pat LeBlanc; sister, Mathilda O’Leary. Memorial donations may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society.
